Even Porn is established in this Century and isn’t much of a cultural phenomenon anymore , many people still have the problem to come out with, associating the Word “Porn” alone with all negatives aspects what the News Outlets tell them.

Lets be honest, most of us have the constant image in mind, someone is fapping in front of their PC , when they hear the word Porn.

Not forgetting society is told on a  daily basis how bad the porn business is, how bad actors / actresses are treated, happenings about revenge porn incidents and much more smut.

But one Teacher at an University has different thoughts and wants to bring porn closer to his students.

For Dr João Florêncio the lines between art and Porn are blurry, and as a teacher at Exeter University, he offers his students a module for called ” Pornography: Bodies, Sex, and Representation” which is part of his Art History and Visual Culture course.

The Module starts in September 2020.

Dr João Florêncio has said that some of his students may find the images hard to watch, but he promised not to censor any material.

His Module covers all aspects of porn, starting from books, historical porn movies and the golden era of porn, including porn between different genders.

It will also focus on pornography to artists who blur the boundaries between erotic art and pornography.

João said “We have to see the potential impact of porn in people’s lives, we must not see porn as solely responsible for people’s sexual behaviours in the same way that we wouldn’t blame violent video games for mass shootings.”

He was so excited about the new module that he wrote on his Twitter Account:

“Chuffed to bits that my new undergrad module “Pornography: Bodies, Sex, and Representation” has been accredited and that Exeter will be the first UK University with one such module! Porn literacy matters!”

In the End  he wishes that society will recognise it as an industry and a workplace, and only then it will be able to ensure porn professionals are treated like everybody else outside the porn industry.
